Tuesday Tool Tip – Email Log

Email Log

Ever have a customer call to say they didn’t get an email? Well, with the Email Log Report, you can see the details of email if it has in fact bounced.

The Email Log is found under the Reports section of the Command Center. On this report you will see either a green check mark or a red “x”.

The green check mark indicates that the email has been sent successfully and has not bounced. If it has bounced, meaning not delivered, a red “x” will display. Simply hover over the red “x” to see the status.

In the screenshot below, the red “x” in the Email Log has the message of “Not delivering to previously bounced address.”   This particular message means that P3 tried to send email to the email address before and it bounced.   Once an email bounces, then we do not attempt to send the email again as it will hurt and lower our Internet reputation.

In this particular situation, two things need to happen.  One, contact the P3 Help Desk.  We will reset the email status on our side and provide instructions on how to have the Customer whitelist our email.  Two, send the Customer those instructions to whitelist our email address to ensure future delivery.
